She's broken left arm, left pelvis and most recently right wrist and nose. So sound of mind but frail of body.

I admire my mom because she took care of my dad in the last ten years of his life. And for a while she insisted on doing it all alone. She finally agreed to getting a helper when she had a gall bladder attack. She added a Sunday helper after she had a mild stroke. My dad died a month after their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary. My mom says he started singing to her again. His Parkinson's and dementia was hard on both of them. He was jealous of her freedom and it made him depressed that he couldn't understand stuff.

I was glad when she agreed to put him in a skilled nursing facility for a number of days when we had a family event out in California.

I hope you have support, Francy. I know that, at the very least, I need contact with the outside world. My mom is just a peripheral concern. It's our older daughter that takes up the most time and energy. She is bright but she can be very primal since she cannot do anything for herself and she cannot speak.

Yes, life does go on. Please take care of yourself.Miss Shuganahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13200157646397610173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5777327999504801937.post-57954816900180512452011-05-25T20:38:21.145-05:002011-05-25T20:38:21.145-05:00OH boy...isnt it like a movie when you get caught ...OH boy...isnt it like a movie when you get caught up in this care giver circle? You love the senior, adore them...but it just grabs you and takes your energy and your full brain power to do each task to help them on their journey.
George took apart the sink disposal today, I can not replace it...he has taken apart microwaves, washing machines and his Alzheimer's is just haunting me...I love him...I hate 24/7 care-

You are in my thoughts...blessings on you...all alone giving care in the middle of a full family...what is that?

I called for a new insurance card and dr. appt today...I calmed him down from the sink issue, gave him 3 meals and treats, helped him put oil in my car, changed his clothes twice and now time for American Idol. Life does go on...but I am so tired...
francy Saunders
SeniorCareWithSpirit.comFrancy with Missyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09252525627452674224noreply@blogger.com
